Gurgaon has expanded significantly over the last 5 years with increasing number of MNC and a large number of residential townships, throughout the city. With a two-fold rise in the population and a five-fold rise in the number of vehicles, traffic congestion and pollution has soared and become a way of life.
To deal with this, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has developed a metro system internally for Gurgaon called Rapid Metro.
The Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Limited (RMGL) provides a speedier link from NH-8 via various hubs of Cyber City to the Sikanderpur Delhi Metro station, thereby, reducing commuting time substantially.
Over the next few years, the Rapid Metro connectivity will be extended to DLF5, thereby connecting residents to the overall Metro infrastructure in the National Capital Region.
